Chain tensioners for tandems?

Is this something I can make by bolting a jockey wheel to the mounting bracket or should I buy something?

You can make something or just wedge a couple of larger chain rings in the chain runs to "float" between the sprockets to take up the slack.

I like the chainring idea. I wonder if it will fit under the chainguard.
