Help with Colnago Sport
Hi everyone!
There is a guy selling Colnago Sport Brake levers: Shimano Exage + original Weinman Brakes: Weinman 605 Shifters and derailleurs: Campagnolo Seat: Selle Royale + original San Marco Pedals, crank arms, chainrings: Gippieme Wheels/rims: Ofmega with quick release, 2 new external CST tires Handlebar: 3T He is asking 240 euros(about 300usd) for it... Is it a real Colnago and is it worth that much? It looks like its in a good shape from the photos. Hello, Welcome to the forums. Your bikes are different from what we see in the US but I am sure someone cane tell you wether it is worth tha asking price. Does it fit?

I had a imported Sport and it was very low end for what it was. But it would be a solid bike for 300

Thanks for the welcome! :)
Well from where I am, people dont really like "retro" road/racing bikes. They see them as junk that just waits to get broken and not worth the investment. For them good bikes are the ones that are 500+ euros with ultegras and God knows what... Recently my friend bought Francesco Moser road/racing bike from 78 I think, and he got it real cheap. 100 euros for PERFECTLY preserved F. Moser! Since I saw it, I fell in love with this kind of bikes. From what I saw, these bikes go for 150+ euros. I would like to buy a good quality road/racing bike that I would use to go to work (about 7km) and occasional longer trips (around 150km). Recently I had a chance to se F. Moser that my friend bought in action when we went on a 130km long tour, it was a beast! Im gonna try to find a well preserved road bike for 100-200 euros, could you tell me which brands are good and what kind (models) of equipment should I look for on such bikes? |
Yes its a real Colnago. An entry level bike made by a contractor. It looks like a very nice bike at a good price. A nice Sport will bring 600 Euro on EBay. There were about 8 generations of Sports made from the early 70's to the mid 90's. I have an early 70's that is plain but a very nice bike. This bike looks like early 80's to me. Ed
