The Official Kumbaya Thread

It's simple - this is a thread to say something nice about another member and/or a bike style that isn't your cup of tea, but that you really like. If it's too cheesy I apologize, but I thought it might be nice.

Grand Bois builds beautiful bicycles (the few I've seen are works of art) and is one of the more knowledgeable people on the thread; far more knowledgeable than I am. I am thoroughly impressed with his knowledge of French bits and marquees.

Photogravity's Norman looks like a beautiful, stylish, fun ride and I'd love to give it a spin.

Awww.....C'mon.....Sheesh!...We all know we are just a bunch of C&V retrogrouches that will kill each other with our bare hands to get at a free Hetchins thrown in a middle of a dark room anyway.....:D

Screw you! You were too nice and that made me mad!

KonAaron Snake 08-24-12 06:16 PM

 I wouldn't kill you for a Hetchins.

A 60s Cinelli SC though (sharpening blades)...

It's a good bunch of guys, and we all have more in common than we do differences. If it's too corny, OK...but I think the occasional group hug has value.

You exhale CO2. which is desperately needed by plants. Also - you have nice finger nails.

I must say, the members of the C&V forum are more helpful and less judgmental than a lot of the other forums.

I love Drew. He's just a misunderstood genius.....

I concur with Tom, C&V is my go to place when I log on! I enjoy the eclectic taste in the forum. My taste run French, and British, but I have developed a taste for Italian steel, and all things IGH!

Cheers,
Chris

I've been wondering lately who came in and is impersonating you, Snake. A few months ago I seemed to notice you became a dadblame sweetypie, good-humored, helpful and all that. Jeez.:D

I'm actually Fender's ghost account.

I'm really impressed by the derailleur-less clunkers.. eh, period pieces that rhm is putting together - and then riding them, actually.

Zaphod Beeblebrox 08-24-12 09:27 PM

Don't be silly, nobody rides these things.

Since Aaron sorta gave me a shout out, I guess I need to come up with a response. BTW, the Norman is the bees knees and I know you'd really enjoy the bike despite the fact it has a 4-speed hub. ;) Here are some from my list:

banjo_mole has a Mercian he's assembling that I think would be a neat ride. It's a shame it's way too small for me, but a short ride would probably be doable.

KonAaron Snake
has put together a collection of interesting bikes that aren't quite my cup of tea, but I think the De Rosa Primato with its all Campy gear might be an interesting ride. I think it might be my size. :)

owenmyers has a 1988 Cannondale SR500 and, though I'm not of the aluminum persuasion, I'd really like to throw a leg over that bike. :thumb:
