Poll: Original Suntor GPX or Tri-Color brifters

I have a small (47cm) Bridgestone RB-1 that's all original, equipped with Suntour GPX. I also have a complete Tri-Color 8-speed group-set w/brifters that has no home at the moment and I don't foresee a new project that'll use this. The bike was bought at price I couldn't walk away from and I figured my 9-year old would one day grow into it. The 15 year old fits it, but she wont ride. I've tried, she got on it once and has no interest (can't win 'em all). So the bike is just hanging in the shed for now and I'm probably just looking for an excuse to tinker with it, but so what, that's what we do right? So the question is obvious: Do I leave well enough alone and sell the Tri-color as a group or swap the parts out and sell the GPX stuff. When (if at all) did RB-1s come with brifters stock. The GPX (and bike) is '88-'89 and the Shimano is too (code LL - Dec '87), so even the PCness of it doesn't matter! There's a possibility of it being used as a loaner for one or two of the kids on our speed-skating team for cross-training rides. I think they might be more comfortable with the brifters over DT shifters. But like I said, I probably just want to wrench on something...

Keep the RB-1 stock. Keep the Tri-color group and find a nice frame to put it on.
