my '86 Le Tour
This Schwinn Le Tour became mine when it was reposted on craigslist at a reduced price, $80.00. https://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...oyd8/001-2.jpg I have always appreciated steel frame bikes and did need a daily ride, my other bikes are specific: 520, Lava Dome, and Lemond so I was grateful that the son of the man who fixed it up for him didn't think it was cool enough. Here is the finished bike after paint and upgrade of components. https://i576.photobucket.com/albums/s...erpaintbik.jpg My neighbor has a body shop and he did the painting, found the schwinn stuff and components on ebay and the wheels on a junk bike at the transfer station. I am starting to spend winters in Thailand and this one is going with me. Just found a '85 super sport on ebay with 600 components that I will fix for here in the summers. Probably paint it red. This is my first full rebuild and I enjoyed the process so look forward to doing it on other vintage bikes.
