Bianchi Question

I am looking at Bianchi Limited Frame Set Tange 900 DB as my first build up. It has a chrome fork and gray frame. One question is what makes it different than a Celeste? Or is Celeste just the color? One idea I have is to repaint it in the Celeste color as I really like it.
Your comments and help would be great.
BTW I also have a lead on a Serotta Colorado ll. Comment?

HI Tom. A Tange 900 frame? hhmmm lets see :geek: I don't see a grey Limited listed with Tange 900. can you get some pics? up until '87 most Limited models had and Italian made Columbus frame. In '88 it had a Orient built frame listed as tange No 1/2 (I am guessing this is a mix of Tange 1 and 2 to acheice the SuperSet frame design) and '89 uses Ishawatta tubing. If you can score some pics esp of the tubing decal and the Bianchi decals that will help alot. Both the '88 and '89 came in telc grey and Bianchi decal with a line running through it.

Very few 'off the shelf' Bianchis came with chrome forks so that could be either a sign of a crash, some previos owners matter of taste or the OEM fork was lost.

Celeste as everyone knows, love it or hate it, is Bianchis trademark color. Bianchi was very proud of the fact that before the '89 model year no Oriental built Bianchi carried a Celeste paint scheme. After that I think it was just a matter of market pressure and needing more brand reconition at lower price points that lead them to use it on lower price point bikes.

Serottas are always nice and IIRC the Colorado Two has that 'cone' shaped DT making the BB a bit stiffer. IMO definitely worth looking at.

Hope this helps.

SHANANAGANS!!!!!!! You never mentioned the frame was in the "Great White North"!! Their bikes are a bit different from ours.

This loks like maybe an '86/87 judging by the decals, and from what I see on here alot of Canadian Bianchis have chrome forks for some reason. Personally I think with shipping $225 might be a tad high for that. DO you have the parts to build it? what was you plan? The seller doesn't have amake offer option but it might not hurt to just offer him $100 plus the shipping, that would eb a bit more palitable. Do you need a 64?
