62cm Mixte Frame

I was checking out the Raleigh USA site and looking at the specs. for the Clubman Mixte, they show a 62cm, with a (virtual) top tube of 60cm! That's the largest production Mixte frame I've encountered. Sorry, no lugs, it's a welded frame. But it does come with a Brooks Swift and a steel fenders

If it's at all like the sloped top tube frame they've been offering over the last few years, I can attest to a very nice responsive and smooth ride.

They even put the rear brake on the mixte stay. Somebody at their design house actually did their homework.

Well, well. I never dreamed of riding one...perhaps because I never considered it a genuine possibility. Now, I doubt that the price tag on a brand-new Raleigh of any description makes it much more likely to happen, but now I know that it's at least possible. Huh.

I recall a thread a little while back posted by a guy seeking advice on a prospective mixte purchase from some maker in California.

That maker (and Soma) offer 58cm, IIRC, but 62/60 is about full-sized, eh?

Cool. Any idea of price, and if they might sell the frameset only? I found neither bit of info on the Raleigh site. When I was at Velo Orange for their garage sale, I asked if they were planning on doing another run of mixtes, and if so whether there would be a ~60cm version. They said maybe, and almost definitely no.

The 2010 was around $1,100 so I'd imagine that's close. Raleigh won't even sell you a painted fender if you ding one up...good luck prying a frame loose.

So I didn't need a mixte until just now... are those the kind of cable guide bosses that can be used to mount DT shifters?

Hmm. They do sell framesets, just not this one: https://www.raleighusa.com/bikes/framesets/ I guess I could ask a dealer.
