And you didnt realize the fork was backwards?

Browsing my local CL I came upon this puzzler, enjoy!

I like that bike, other than the quick handling.

David Newton 09-26-12 04:08 PM

And the seat is "non-adjustable" because...?

Flying Merkel 09-26-12 04:14 PM

Wow, the dreaded Newport to Huntington ride. It's a grueling mile of freerange drunks and clueless bikini babes. You need quick handling & a low center of gravity to navigate the mess.

VeloBrox 09-26-12 04:19 PM

Wouldn't the massive trail make this bike extremely slow handling? Reminds me of David Jones URB III or a stayer bike.

Pic for Posterity.

That is hilarious, I laughed my butt off when I saw that.

Never seen a mixte stayer bike before.

Awesome.

Must be worth a fortune.

Ahead of its time with that aerodynamic front brake placement.

KZBrian 09-26-12 05:52 PM

It's a good idea to carry along some spare chainrings and rear cogs, just in case.

A few years ago we were down in Irvine visiting my mother-in-law and I'd brought my bike. I was on PCH in Newport stopped at a light and I asked a lady in a MB convertible if this was the right place to turn to get back to Irvine.

"IRVINE?!?! That must be TEN miles from here!"

Chris_in_Miami 09-26-12 06:38 PM

I saw a little kid riding a bike with a reversed fork out on a path a few months ago. He was weaving all over the path and I had to stop to let him get by, so I pointed out the fork to his dad and explained how to fix it. He told me that was the way he bought it from the store (no surprise there,) but seemed grateful and I hope he took care of it before the kid rode again...

I don't know why, but that bike speaks to me! kinda like a sotto voce "rescue me".

Says he's selling it because he has a new bike, wonder how the forks are on that one?

gerv 09-26-12 07:57 PM

I think it needs fenders.

JesusBananas 09-26-12 08:29 PM

Slammed, stuck seatpost + super riser stem?

You all are just jealous.

that_guy_zach 09-26-12 08:38 PM

I think its cool that its a mixte with Canti brakes, Someone should save it.

I think then, that's exactly the bike I want, with a basket for a puppy....

rhenning 09-27-12 07:07 AM

I figured this was the next evolution of "hipster" bikes. Roger

Tundra_Man 09-27-12 07:36 AM

Forget toe overlap, that thing has pedal overlap.

Looks like it's also a single-speed conversion - they left all the gears on and sized the chain for a cross-chained selection. Not fixed but there's no rear brake installed either.

sportridertex 09-27-12 07:53 AM

brakes,,,,breaks,,,,, education is so shallow

That was my first thought. How the heck could she/he pedal that thing in a turn?

The local Hooters went out of business years ago. Couldn't hope to compete with the free competition.

As a general rule, Huntington Beach is for women's beach volleyball and strippers on their day off. Newport Beach is where their hot mommies hang out. Put them all on pink or powder blue beach cruisers and you get the picture.
