crashed 75 le tour

JUST bought from the original owner the nicest looking 75 le tour I ever saw. Next day on the maiden voyage to school i got hit and all I can say is FA_____Q spokane. If you have a death wish. bike this town.

Any way an ambulance ride and a concussion later I am looking at my bike. I need a new crank and front forks to start. Looks like Ill be doing that alloy wheel upgrade as my front is def gone and the back looks ok.

What can i interchange with? Can i put 75 super sport stuff in my le tour?

thanks very much and don't ever think about riding without a helmet. I'm lucky to be alive.

Wow good thing your ok, i have a strecthed rotator cuff injury from getting doored about a month ago now. Still trying to get the kinks out but my bike survive with minor cosmetic damage(torn tape and scratch). As far as compatible i think you should be fine.

damn JayBlurr that is my biggest fear. I was out on the main road less than a block and lights out. my friend said I called three times. the fourth time was the paramedic and was asking if i was men ally challenged. I must have been drooling on myself. Does anyone out there know of a high speed schwinn mechanic that could give me a solid on what year works with my 75 le tour? upgrading to ss parts would be nice if it was an upgrade.

With that much damage, I'd have someone check the frame before proceeding. If the frame is toast, game over. The Le Tour isn't exactly a high end bike so I'd think carefully about how much you dump into it. Might be more cost efffective to pick up a littler higher end bike.

Glad you're OK! The Super Sport was discontinued after '73, and returned in '81 as a completely new high-end Japanese made bike. Most of the parts except for the wheels on a '73 or earlier model would not be considered an upgrade for your Le Tour.

If your existing hubs are OK you'd probably be better off lacing them to much stronger new alloy rims like the Sun Ringle CR-18. Assuming the rest of the frame is OK, you could get a new replacement fork in chrome that could be cut down to fit.
