Ohhh noooooo.
Especially the way the ad is phrased:
"The frame is a 70s Italian Made Fiorelli. All other parts are brand new ORIGIN-8 brand!"
It seems like the seller is proud of the fact that they have decked out an wonderful frame with oodles and oodles of crap.
For some people it is about the fashion, I suppose.

It's disgusting. However, I can think of worse canvasses than a Fiorelli - never seen one yet that has impressed me with its build quality.

Those schlubs have been trying to sell that for over a year.
I stopped in there once a few years ago to buy the one decent bike that they had in the shop. I asked them for a tape measure and they handed me a standard/English/fractional tape. I asked them if they had a metric tape measure in the shop, and they had no clue what I meant. Seriously.
I wouldn't trust them to change a flat tire....

That bike is, or was, in a 'shop' not far from me. That is, a wide storefront with display windows, on a block of Lawrence Avenue mostly occupied by Korean businesses. I was in there once and there were frames in a pile, wheels in a pile, various bikes in various states of repair, none good, and two characters who seemed to have only a vague idea of concepts like 'bike repair' or 'business.'
I could not figure it out.
Supposedly that 'shop' is connected to another, further N in Chicago, one that spams CL regularly with ads for overpriced used bikes, and I've been in there once, too. They did not have a tube to sell.
And there is apparently a third connected business, in Rogers Park, but I have not been to that one. It apparently tries to pass itself off as a bike shop and something like a community center or co-op, while being neither. Same owner, same curious approach. Can't see how the 'business' makes a dime, can't think of any other motivation to keep the doors of these places open, yet they are.
I could not figure it out.

Given that this bicycle is in the USA, I would think the creator would be praised rather than criticized. After all, isn't America the land of doing your own thing, breaking the rules, flying in the face tradition, etc.?

Lose the green chain and it's not that bad really....my wife loves the green color, and i think it makes a kinda cool, hit-the-espresso-shop sorta ride...in a hipster kinda way..... But yeah, not for that price...
I also support the "be creative" mindset, even if it's not for me type bikes.

I agree. I'd never want to own such a creation, but I appreciate it for what it is and can understand that some folks would love it. And at least the frame is being used (or could be used if offered for sale at a more reasonable price).

It's insane because the price started about a year ago at about $850. Only a moron thinks that adding fashion accessories makes it worth that much and I'd guess that they haven't touched the bottom bracket or headset. They're just the epitome of form triumphing over fashion. They would't know a decent bike if it bit them in the ass, or how to ensure that it was safe to ride. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I wouldn't trust them to change a flat...
