Some cool vintage Frenchness here;

Not Binda's , but some pretty cool old Lapize toe straps for a decidedly non- Binda price.
These are just like the ones that came on my '72 Gitane, so I bought a set.
BTW, he accepts reasonable offers.

Forty years old and French, Eschlwc. Not bad when you consider A. Binda's are 2 to 3 times that, usually.
Mod Chinese ones on my vintage ride? Nahhhhh.....

Nice saddle. Fellow told me he bought some stock from a closed shop. Asked if he had some black straps. No dice.

He did accept my slightly lower offer, though, which I appreciated.

I got a pair of black Christophes at Velo Cult for $16 - but they may have been made last month and not 40 years ago

Basic black; I like the medium-brown ones the best, tho.

You guys must be thinking of the laminated version of the Bindas that don't stretch and are usually around 90 - 100ish bucks at eBay for NOS.
These Lapize straps should be cheaper as they are single ply leather only. Frankly, $30 for them does not sound like a bargain at all as aside from the unusual white color and fancy lettering, they aren't really that different from Christophes or MKS straps which are usually cheaper than 30 bucks.....

I don't know Chombi, I regularly see standard Binda's on ebay for 75 bucks and up. Christophes are a dime a dozen in my experience, but these old Lapize straps spoke to me: early seventies. It's the logo and the buckles, man, with the metal rollers. I'm kind of a sucker for that kind of thing. Or, maybe just a sucker.

BTW, as I said, I didn't pay 30 bucks for mine.

^ True - gotta love those knurled brass rollers

They don't make 'em like they used to.
