Sekine SHT I restored for my Girlfriend...

Posted this on roadbikereview.com and then found this forum. So Ill post it here because it seems there is more sekine LOVE on here

Little backstory on the Sekine. I found it in a trailer park, I was there buying mid 80's schwinn WorldSport and as I was test riding the WS a kid approached me telling me he has a road bike and is giving it away. He said he found this Sekine at an abandoned house and I gave him 10 dollars for it. I have never seen another Sekine around anywhere, so I figure they are pretty rare.

When I first recieved the Sekine it was rusty, dirty and sad looking. My GF just loved the bike so I told her we could restore it and she could have it.

This Sekine is either an SHS or an SHT I believe it to be an SHT. Here is the parts list..

Frame : Tange Champion Butted Tubes cro-mo
Lugs : Tange Ornate
Drops : Forged Shimano
Seat : Belt leather
Cranks : Sakae Silver alloy
FD/RD : Shimano Titlist
Bottom Bracket : Shimano
Bars : Sakae Road Champion
Stem : Sakae alloy
Pedals : self righting alloy
Wheels : 700c alloy/shimano Hubs
Brakes : Long Reach Shimano Tourney Centerpull

Here are some pics, let me know what you guys think. I love the bike, kinda wish it was still mine but I have enough for now

Very neat! I see a fair amount of Sekine's around here (Winnipeg) because they were manufactured in Manitoba for a brief time. There's a fairly long/comprehensive thread about Sekine's somewhere in here (the search function isn't the best) This is higher on their food chain than I usually see (forged DO's and a RD hanger) There are a few people on the forums that may be able to ID it on sight.

Yea I knew as soon as I saw it that it was a nice frame. The Lugwork is very good and the frame has a "Champion Butted Tubes" sticker. The Belt seat is also very hard to find from what I read. It had Araya 27" wheels at first but I nabbed a Ross with 700's and put those on this bike because I hate 27" wheels.

Here are a couple more pics of it....

It's an SHS. Same frame as the SHT but with slightly lesser components. The give aways are the rear derailleur, crankset, & turkey levers.

Here are the catalog scans:
