Info on this strange find....Halloween Special

Ok here's one I've not seen before. Appears to be an early carbon/Al frame and fork but not 100% sure. Check the pics and help me out. BTW full Dura-ace grouppo Pd $100.00

Nice bike but are you sure it's carbon?
Looks to me like all alloy with the main tubes anodised or painted black.

Could be aluminum...used a magnet to rule out painted CrMo.

knock it lightly with something metal - it'll ting if it's aluminum and clunk if it's carbon.

A lot of Dural frames were made by Vitus and I just sold a 1984 Peugeot with a decal that said Duralumin 979. Pegeot entered some in the 1984/7 TDF. It is incredibly light and is an aluminum/mag alloy. The construction was excellent but I prefer steel so I moved it on. I believe that the frames that are 56 or under are a better ride than the larger sizes

Duralumin (also called duraluminum, duraluminium or dural) is the trade name of one of the earliest types of aluminum alloys. The main alloying constituents are copper, manganese, and magnesium A commonly used modern equivalent of this alloy type is AA2024, which contains 4.4% copper, 1.5% magnesium, 0.6% manganese and 93.5% aluminium by weight.
