Inexpensive HandleBar Tape...
 

I mentioned in one of the BF threads that I purchase bar tape from China. I do this through Ebay and have done so a few times. I get my stuff from different suppliers My most recent order came from this supplier but all you have to do is search Handlebar Tape on Ebay Vintage Bicycles and you should get a few choices.

So far I have been absolutely satisfied with the product, the communication, shipping time and time for arrival (about two weeks from paid to arrived).

I agree Randy. Most of the Chinese wrap is excellent. Esp. if you can get it forabout $2.55/pair! It seems that the prices in season were at least twice this amount.

I wish Bike Ribbon was this cheap.

Seriously, thanks for the tip...the description says that it's "natural synthetic material with cork", but also that the material is "Rubber foam".

Since you have it in hand: any cork in this stuff?

I can't see any cork but to me it matters not. The stuff is inexpensive, easy to get, easy to install (could have done a better job on the Jeunet) and feels good.

Also, I get this stuff for myself and for Bicycles for Humanity. Between the two of us, we build about a hundred old road bikes a year. With that in mind and trying to keep costs low, this handlebar tape is the "cat's butt", in my opinion.

Handlebar ribbon. Is there a difference between handlebar tape and ribbon?

For myself, I try to support Newbaum's.

Only bad thing for me is that the cheap stuff either comes in black, or a multicolor splash. As I use neither, I guess I am stuck with the $5 to $6 stuff.

I really need to consider using black on occasion.

I also came across bikes which has the tube slided on the handlebars, and it looks and feels impressive.
