Soma Deco Rack - any thoughts?

Looking for a nice vintage-appropriate back rack for use on my 74-ish Peugeot mixte. Have any CVers had any experience installing the Soma Deco (https://store.somafab.com/newsoderera.html) on their projects? I'm looking for a rack that doesn't need to carry big loads, just the occasional light shopping/groceries. Finish must be silver, no black. Also looking at the Soma Mini Alloy front rack; again, don't need anything that will be carrying super heavy loads, but am looking for something I could lash my market basket to without breaking my bank in the process. (https://store.somafab.com/somialfrra.html)

I was initially planning on the VO Porteur for the front, but given my needs this could be a much better use of my money. Any thoughts/input is much appreciated.

Interesting, I am looking at front and back racks for my vintage Torpado Tourer project. Not sure if those are Hefty enough for serious touring, then again, I doubt I am Hefty enough for serious touring! Look good for light to medium loads. ANYONE have experience with either of these racks?

Does anyone have pictures of that Soma front rack mounted on a bike? I'm curious now. I could definitely use something like that as opposed to the nashbar/sunlite thing, which seems kind of pointless.

The Soma rear rack looks an awful lot like a Sunlite rear rack.
Given the C&V vibe, I'd go with a Pleisher rear rack. In fact, there are 4 hanging on the wall of the barn....along with a Greenfeild copy that is destined for a Schwinn.

I did look at the Pletscher racks; they certainly have a vintage vibe to them. But, the CS rack doesn't really look like it would be a great fit for my side-hanging bags or panniers that attach with clips, like my Basil Mira shopper and my Linus Sack bag. The side struts don't look like they'd keep my bags from tilting into my spokes. The Athlete model looks more stable but it only comes in black that I can see, and I'm definitely wanting something silver in color to match the rest of the bike's accents.

i like the soma front... put a basket on that and you can put your sleeping bag in there... that rear rack looks ugly to me, but is probably really functional

rustyshrapnel,
I don't know the bags you mention, but I'm a huge fan of the racktime racks. They have hollow aluminum tubing and are strong.
Take a look at the standit: https://www.bikebagshop.com/racktime-...cks-c-310.html
