Schwinn Paramount Build question....

Hey Guys,

I can't seem to choose what group set to use on the Paramount. Suggestions anyone?

1st Choice: Nouvo Record Front and rear Derailleur, Record Brake set Nuovo Record Levers . Nuovo Crankset, Record Barend shifters. Cinelli Stem and Bars. Large Flange Record 700c Clinchers

2nd Choice: Super Record Front and rear Derailleurs, Super Record Crankset, Record Brake set Super Record Levers. Record Barend shifters. Cinelli Stem and Bars. Large Flange Record 700c Clinchers

Either build will get a Black Brooks Team Professional saddle. Suntour bar ends instead of the record ones. I can't decide....

That nice paint job deserves Super Record. Besides, it looks like the SR crankset is already on it.

I just put that on for decal spacing and position and measurements. It does look good with Super Record.....

Yeah, eventually he'll need something for that Mustang, and the next thing you know, the final chrome Paramount, the orange Superior, etc., will come available.

Since this is the case I'll save this one for you:

That corrosion should buff right out.

Don't hate! He is proud of his work. I would go w/ something more modern, if you intend to ride it regulalry.

I looks like you are building my January 1974 P10-9. Mine is a Campy bike with the only changes I have made to it is to add a Crane GS rear derailluer. That actually shifts about 50 times better than the Campy Rally that came with it. Even still has the Schwinn Approved (Sun Tour) bar ends on it. The only other addition the original buyer bought was to have Campy side pulls on the bike instead of the stock Weimanns. Roger

I don't see how this is even a choice. It has to be NR. Anything else will look weird.

Centerpulls were standard equipment. Campy sidepulls were an option. So far as I recall.

This is a '73, right? Did Campagnolo make brakes back then? I thought they didn't start until a few years later. That said, even if I'm correct, no reason why they couldn't be used.
