The new ebay interface
I have to give it 2 thumbs up.
More white space.
The new sold items filter, not just completed items.
And the new listing alert.
Nice.

I am not so sold yet.
For the past month I never know what "face" I will get, the last tweaked one, or some version of the new one. This is from the same computer on the same day, same browser... graphic roulette.
Until it settles down; three frowns.
Not having a predictable place find the completed items button to for instance is a nuisance.
The other feature that is confounding is not being able to predictably find the location of the offered item, a reasonable clue as to shipping cost and risk.
And that "microprint" item number... ebay long ago made it necessary to manually copy that number for use by a sniping program, (as if that hurdle was more than the nuisance it is)

I don't like it...but then I am not a fan of much of anything since the Reagan administration.

^ Correct, if you are using Snipe It Now! with auctionsniper.
Ebay seems to like making the most useful (to us) features hidden and hard to get at, like completed listings, etc.

Maybe I'm not getting the new layout? In mine, it is hidden under the Buying Formats (you have to click on the Choose More to see it). I'm using a somewhat older PowerMac, with Firefox 3.6.28. It used to show up there, but was always there.

I had to search around a bit for my favorite function, Completed Listings, but other than that, meh. Change is change, and it's gonna happen; I've finally learned to live with it.
I do happen to hold out hope that the seller/buyer support becomes more even in the future, but until it does I've curtailed selling operations.

There's an internet rumor out there that eBay will one day compel it's sellers to use "standardized eBay packaging". In the realm of eBay reforms and revisions, THAT would be a really bad day. Now as we know, all Internet rumors are true -- NOT! So take it with a grain or rock of salt, to your taste.
Having spent more than a few years perfecting packaging methods for bicycle parts, and knowing how the vast majority of sellers vaporize everybody's money using inefficient methods and materials, "standardized" packaging would waste so so much money I get powerfully sick even thinking about it. Of course at one extreme standardizing packaging might actually help the worst of the worst sellers -- ha ha.
Bit of a digression i know, and hate to spread icky rumors, but there you have it: best to contemplate some worst case scenarios.

Not only is completed listings are on the top, you can keep the search title and description selected. You no longer have to deselect "Include description" and search again. Granted the results are title only, but they eliminated that step as I typically always search title and description.
Also, as i referred to in the OP, there is now a Sold items filter. It shows the completed stuff that sold, not the overpriced unsold stuff, separating the wheat from the chaff.
And they have the alert showing new items since the last time I searched. Yes, the cookies invade my privacy, but I don't care.

I haven't taken too much notice to it, but it does seem to look different on my different computers. I thought it was just the Explorer (yes I use explorer) version.

Seems like you aren't getting the good stuff.

Another foible is where you have reviewed "other items from the same seller" and when you are done with that getting back to your more general search is more effort than it was before.

Just noticed it won't let me do wildcard searches. Probably my mistake, but if not, WTF? Wild card searches help buyers and sellers alike.
I do not get the page above, which I would consider a very nice enhancement.

Oh yeah I forgot, they don't allow wildcards in the search terms anymore. Nice move

Wildcards are like camp* which previously brought up Campy, Campagnolo, Campuer, etc. Now you have to do (Campy, Campagnolo). Major step backwards if you ask me.

Wild card searches are how I find stuff where the seller misspells the title. I had saved several common misspellings along with portions of a word or phrase. It also helps buyers find my stuff without getting the search words perfect. Just another example IMHO that ebay is not being run by experienced buyers or sellers. Its all about paypal.

Confounding in that the layouts keep evolving.
