So... You still sitting on that Palo Alto? :P

For now. I will build it at some point, but shiny objects keep distracting me! Part of the problem with building the Palo Alto is that I haven't decided on the bars yet...I'm waiting for inspiration (translation, a killer deal).

What type of bars are you seeking?

I haven't really decided. Normally I'd do drops, but the bosses on this bike aren't set up for down tube shifters. I don't want to change the spacing, or spend the money on brifters, so it looks like I have to use barcons. I know from experience that I don't really like barcons with drop bars, so I've been thinking about using either mustache bars or something like the Nitto albatross bars. I'm waiting for the right bars to speak to me.

When you get a chance, take a look at VO's Porteur in the "road" size.

They will take bar ends. We are building a Rivendell Quickbeam for a buddy and I really like the bend/shape of the bars.

He decided to go with those, but I also like the Milan model.

Granted, the Quickbeam is a single, but the Porteur bar shape is outstanding.

That's a great suggestion Grady - I've been looking at these (in aluminum) but am hoping to get a deal:

Yes, that Nitto looks sweet as well.

Super comfy and a nice, see everything/upright riding position.

My wife uses the VO Milan model on her Peugeot mixte, but I don't think they will accept bar ends.

She loves those bars.

I really like a wide bar, particularly when upright...my arms are long. The Nitto Albatross has a wing span...I guess I'm talking myself into it now that I'm thinking about it. I've had the project on back burner, especially since the Cinelli came in.
