Curious Colnago - Is it a fake?
I have been shopping around for a new frame on eBay and have come across this "Colnago" frame twice.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/colnago-stee...item2ec3544378
The Colnago Club is conspicuously absent from the lug cut outs, there is no pantographing anywhere on the frame and the bottom bracket cut out is a series of circles rather than the Colnago Club. There is nothing indicating a particular model and there is only straight tubes. There is nothing indicating what tubing is used but the seller says it has internal cable routing.
Based on my own experience, the cable routing under the bottom bracket suggest the frame is very late 70's or newer and the particular "Made in Italy" sticker on the frame suggests a mid to late 80's model. As I understand it, internal cable routing is usually found on top tier frames. If this is a top tier Colnago frame it seems like there would also be something more than a decal indicating a Colnago.
Based on the very poor condition and the absence of a matching fork I am going to pass but for the sake of knowing, I am curious if any one can provide more information.

Colnago did not radius the holes and they were of a different size and number. It was from a time when those dropouts were not yet seen and brake fitting and brake bridge was much different, I could go on...
I like the handlebar tape bands on the seat tube. A graphic tour.

Yes fake 'Nago, but...seems to have Cinelli lugs and IC seat lug (??), plus vertical dropouts...could be something interesting. But not a Colnago. The BB perfing was done by a number of builders, some very prestigious, but could be copied by anybody.
