Cannondale finish welder
I was a finish welder in 90-91 in Bedford PA. My stamp initials were JK. When we finished welding a bike, we would stamp the rear left dropdown. The welding inspector would come around the welding department and gather finished bikes and inspect them. If it had a flaw, they would return the bike to the welder by looking at the initials. If anyone comes across a 90-91 with JK, I would love to hear from you. BTW, I left Cannondale to go into the army and then later to college. I was 18 when I welded there. I still ride a Cannondale to this day.

Unfortunately, I haven't really talked to anyone there since I left. However, if you do find any bikes with EH or KB on them, I do know their whereabouts.

I was curious to know if this was also done with Mountain bikes, so I just went and checked my 1999 F2000 Caad4 frame. My photo hosting site appears to be down right now, so I will try later to upload a picture, but from what I can see, it looks like someone made three attempts to stamp the dropout with what appears to be F8. The letter number combo appears to be a different system, but may still be a builder's code.
Edit: Image added.

My 1996 'F-XXX' CAAD-3 has an 'A3' and two more stamps that are buried under the paint. One is definitely an '_8' though. Cant make out enough of the other to have any idea what it says.
Those little details are fun. It reminds you that your bike was made by people.
