'who ever ends up the next owner of this machine, we want them to have all the original dust.'

That I find cool, if you win a bike at auction you get to buy it as it was 50 years ago when he put it into the shed. As a collector, that's what I am after when I am buying a second hand bike, originality.

One of the people who collects bicycles for me has a side yard (really really big side yard) full of old motorcycles from the seventies and eighties. He is about to dump them all for scrap metal prices. If any of you guys are interested, let me know and I will put you in touch with the old guy, assuming that he will allow me to give out his phone number.

You will need a BIG truck to pick the bikes up.

I'd have paid to be one of those guys doing triage on the vehicles in the Lee Hartung collection. Unearth rare bikes and cars that haven't seen sunshine for fifty years or more, coax them into running, see them ready for new appreciative owners. Lay off each evening, legs tired from endless kicking, hands cut and sore, grimy, your lungs coated with a layer of dust, half-combusted oil and WD-40, smile wide as a scoop bucket, head full of memories.
Thanks for posting this.

Great videos. Love it when they kick them off for the first time, scary, but cool.

Hi Randy:

I'm guessing that there are no Triumphs, Nortons or Harley's in that collection. Am I right?

Saw a brief glimpse of a Norton in reel 5. How could you miss the Harley's?

Look on my works ye mighty and despair...

Neat collection, but I hate seeing vultures pick apart and sell this guy's pride & joy. Did they mention where the proceeds of the auction are going? Did he have any heirs?

Hey Otis, Shionage was referring to Randy's post, not the stuff the OP referred to.
