Clipless for my continental?

Just acquired a 3-piece BB conversion for my 73 continental. I still need to purchase some pedals, and I would like to go clipless. This would me my first pair of clipless pedals. I would still like a pair that are large enough for me to ride with a pair of tennis shoes. Any suggestions?

Go SPD type, a number of the SPD compatible pedals also have a frame that will work with street shoes.

The Forte' Campus pedals from Performance Bikes have worked well for me....

If you don't want SPD's there are other options as well. The Crank Brother's Mallet is a clipless/platform mix of sorts.

+1 on the Forte Campus, my favorite pedal.

Here is my '72 Super Sport with a conversion and Nashbar's version of the Campus because I wanted silver instead of black.

Shimano SPD PD-M324 is my favorite pedal for this kind of riding.

I'll definitely agree with the sentiment. They're standard equipment on any touring bike I've built in the past seven years.
