Weird Mount System on Superbe Shifters... help ?!

Hi.

I purchased these as they were simply advertised as used Superbe DT Shifters and I really can't figure out how to use them.

I have a doubt they can be used on normal DT shifter braze-ons...... ?!

Anyone familiar ? thanks in advance

Haven't seen something like that before. I think the bolt is simply something a previous owner used to keep the shifter set together in the right order. It's hard to tell from your photo, but if the bolt is removed, would those black plastic spacers then fit over a standard shifter boss?

Really? I suspect someone removed the bosses and cross bolt when they took the shifters off a Aluminium frame. A few minutes with a pair of pliers should fix this.

don't know how they could be used, as they cannot be screwed in like normal braze-on dt shifters

I once had a Cannondale and it has the same setup as in the picture. BG is correct. This set is from an AL frame bike. This shifters themselves should fit on a standard DT frame with Bosses.

Thanks for the info, but unless I am dumb, I am missing some parts for them to fit on a std. frame... something to replace the black plastic parts that actually fit my frame :\

It's quite difficult to see what the rear cutout looks like on the black back plates; better picture? Regardless I'm thinking you could use a Dremel tool to widen the cut-out so it would fit on the braze-on square mount. Also you haven't said what type of braze-on your using. Some do not have the cut aways on the end that these shifters were designed around.

That type of mount was also used on a lot of CF frames...pretty much any time when you cannot braze on the bosses for the shifters.

If you eliminate the frame parts (the long threaded rod and the two pieces than thread on the ends of the threaded rod) you should be able to assemble the remaining pieces into two shifters.
