IMHO, deep fried turkey pales in comparison to the magnificence of a turkey which is brined, buttered, and slooooow-roasted. And by "slooooow" I mean blasting it at 400 for 30 minutes then leaving it in a 185 degree oven for 12-16 hours. It's time consuming, but you end up with a turkey which is perfectly tender and moist in every last bite.
