Broken Campy BB

Hey guys, this is from my Extralight that I acquired last year.. Whoever worked on it last must've overtightened the left cup. Question: Can I still repair this with a new bearing sleeve? That's if I ever find one. Looking at Campy's diagram for spare parts, it looks like they don't sell this part separately. Has anybody had the same issue? Is it possible to replace the broken part or is it time to buy a replacement?

That to me is kind of an odd place for it to fail. I would want to feel confident that the bearings are 100% and that there was not anything inside the frame that helped this failure along.

More likely a manufacturing defect as opposed to overtightening.

This is why I think it's caused by overtightening of the cup.

The bearings seem to spin fine. I actually didn't notice anything odd while
riding the bike. There is still some material left that holds the bearing in its place.

I think a repair would essentially equal buying an alternative bottom bracket and attempting to swap parts that were not designed to be swapped.

Get a token BB and go riding man!

I think by the time you spend the energy to try and find the part then go hunting for a similar size CampI BB could have already been riding the bike with a Phil BB in place for about the same investment.

If it was an actual bearing that was bad I would say look for a good bearing supply shop and see what you can find but not something like a CampI bearing sleeve.
