40 hole Coaster Brake!!

I'm looking for a 3 speed coaster brake that has a 40 hole spoke count, I've been told about Sturmey Archer S3C but it's difficult to find, is their any other models I can use?

Thanks!
Daniel.

The older Sturmey TCW is an alternative although they were considered dangerous since the brake mech could fail if you hit a false neutral with the gears.

The TCW came in a few versions...I have a MKIII that gives me no problems but I use a front brake just to be safe.

Yeah I did research the TCW model and it kinda worried me, but I won't know until I try so I'll give them a shot!

Thanks!

I might have a 36 hole Raleigh rim in the basement if that would make your life easier.

Hmm, I have an old 1950 Dunelt one speed cruiser that I could convert to 3 speed with one of these...

One of those ads says it's from a 20" bike, but really does the original wheel size matter if you're putting the hub into a new wheel??

I don't think so, as long as the spoke count match up it should be fine. I could be wrong.

No it doesn't matter as long as the spoke count is the same, might have to change the cog out for one with more teeth.

Well that certainly goes without saying. Despite living in Iowa, it is certainly NOT the Dutch Low Country/pancake land that an 18 tooth rear cog seems to be meant for! 21 has been the first step in what I've done on my other bikes.

What part of Iowa? Some parts I have ridden in very hilly (Fayette County), others less so. But I do agree it isn't pancake flat.
