Toe clip sizing

Would a toe clip measuring 3 3/4" from the center of the spindle to the front of the toe be considered a M, L, or XL?

My MKS chromed steel toe clips measure 3 3/4" from the center of the spindle to the front of the clips. They are size Large.

That's approximately true with my Christophes and Campagnolos as well. Of course, pedals vary, so including them in the measurement is going to lead to some inaccuracies.

I bet the majority of toe clips are size L, or about 3 3/4", which fit most normal humans fine.Trouble is I'm looking for an XL, since my son-in-law has water skis for feet - size 14!

Any leads?

I bought the MKS LL size, and added some washers to "stretch" them out off the pedal face.

These would be considered large for toe clips 9-11 shoe size most medium fits all fits no one are about a half inch smaller.

MKS offers a size XL. Bens Cycle lists these as men's shoe size 10 and up. Not sure they would be big enough for size 14 paddles though.

The small washers is a very good idea to add length. Would you have a measurement for the MKS LL clips? Of course, the pedal style makes this an unreliable comparison, depending on the fore/aft size of the pedal.

Velo Orange has "deep" clips. I use them, size 12 feet. http://store.velo-orange.com/index.p...toe-clips.html

VO carries the MKS deep (LL's) clips. Deep, until I used a pair of shoes with a slotted cleat. Then it was a no-go, and had to add the spacers.

I have size 13's and find the plastic mountain bike clips to be the largest and very comfortable. My favorites are the Zefal clips.
