This one is pretty traditional where it counts.

I feel lucky to see his bicycles around the Twin Cities in the summer.

Always fun to stop and take a look, have a quick chat with the owner and then be on our way.

FWIW I see a fellow occasionally on our Mississippi River Blvd. with an attractive light blue/silver Kvale.

I would love to take a closer look, but he's too fast for me.

I like to think my 2007 Waterford has a vintage look. The geometry is based on the early 1970s Paramounts.

This is what a modern steel bike should look like. imho

Chris Bishop just keeps creating fresh designs I truly love.

They really speak to me.

Exquisite.

I have one in the works. That will be a very traditional but fully modern bike.

A wonderful choice.

I chatted with him briefly a few years ago at NAHBS.

He really gets it!

After I get our boys out of college I'll see if he has some time to build one for me.

I hear you. Go check out his Flickr sometime, if you haven't already.

The thought and energy that goes into each frameset is really something else.

Does this mean you'll be using -gasp- brifters?

Well, that's all I ride now. I'm one of those heathens that enjoys having vintage bikes without riding them. But I'm still a retrogrouch and will be using Campy 10 speed because I do not like the look of the 11 speed brifters.

Although the ones I drilled and polished on that blue Bishop actually look pretty sweet.

Somehow I thought you were more of an iconoclast Otis - clearly I'm mistaken.

The campy 11 is less than attractive to me too, but it's just so comfortable!

I still haven't made the leap to 11.

I'm stuck on the shape of the 10 speed Chorus Ergos and I think I'll stay here for a bit.

Dirt cheap horsepower.

More than sweet.

A true focal point of the cockpit, I'd say.

As I peruse these photos on my iPhone i notice something: it's hard to see the lugs on some of these bikes. Then I think, "Why aren't those lugs standing out more? I know we can't all have chromed lugs, but I love contrasting lugs whether they are painted in an accent color or outlined in a different color. Lugs are part of the beauty of a bike, they should show. It reminds me of a house painted all one color, even the trim. There is a house down the street from mine like this: over 100 years old and solid red. To each their own, I suppose.

Not as classic looking as some of the others on this thread but with fenders and my favorite saddlebag I have tried to incorporate some vintage features. This is my one modern bike and I have to admit, having had it for a few weeks now, I am warming up to brifters.
