Look what followed me home...

You guys believe me right?

Half the fun will be trying to identify it under the rattle job! (Turns out to be a Viscount)
Cable stops are ground off.
Welded not lugged, then sanded smooth.
Serial is on BB and is 643938
Frame bare weighs about 5lbs
26.4 seatpost size
27 inch wheels
Standard English Threading

5 and 3/4 lbs with BB headset and seatpost binder bolt installed, tubing must be something I like! Serial is located on the BB 643938, unable to distinguish the dropouts underneath the gold rattle so far, welded not lugged.

I'm thinking it's a 1991 Trek now, anyone know how to help me identify it further?

I'm getting old and my eyes aren't so good any more. The picture is too dim and fuzzy for me to see it well.

What is the BB threading? Seatpost size? Is it one of those internally lugged Peugeots?

BB seems to be standard english threading (there is currently a kuwurama BB in there), Seatpost seems to be 26.2, it doesn't seem to be french to me but I know next to nothing about those bikes.

Judging by serial, features, etc.. I've settled on it's a custom made of some sort and I'm leaving it at that. And thanks, I like the way my cow bike looks too

Fork yes, can't tell how high the socks run though. But almost all the rear seems to be chromed under the paint.

Chrome is of high value to me. Raleigh chromed the full back triangle and the half front fork on there bikes in 1985
