Dirty Gitane

Today was a beautiful, sunny 75 degrees in San Diego. Seemed like a great day to ride part of the Trans County Trail so I grabbed the Gitane and had a fun ride. It was the perfect way to enjoy the afternoon.

I also want to thanks to this forum. Before I started hanging out here, I never would have thought of putting together a bike like this.

It was minus 38 degrees Celsius (-34 degrees Fahrenheit) here in thunder Bay yesterday. I did not go for a ride but I did work on a couple of bikes at the Bicycles for Humanity workshop. I also saw a dog, leg up, and frozen to a hydrant. Warmed up quite a bit today, though - only minus twenty.

awesome looking trail! the trails up here in orange county are boring, they are nice but just so urban. any spot that has tree's or grass is only a breif moment. I have been thinking of jumping on the train in Fullerton down there to San Diego with my bike to check out the trails. is it pretty easy to find ones way around down there?

If coming down by train, get off at the Sorrento Valley Coaster station. That drops you off about a mile away from the start of the Trans County Trail in my post above. In winter, the first part in Penasquitos Canyon can be closed. After the rains stop, you can ride the trail from Sorrento Valley to the far side of Poway.

There is also the Coast to Crest Trail which starts in Del Mar. I have ridden the inland parts fo the trail which are a good ride, but I have not ridden toe parts near the coast.
