Model This Campy BB
 

Just wanted information on this campy BB, I just got this frame for a fixie and found the bottom bracket in a drawer at work. My boss practically gave it to me for free, I guess there isn't too much campy on recumbents! I couldn't find any numbers or letters on the the inside before I installed it, just "2/5". Any help would be appreciated!

could be centaur, daytona, mirage... probable one of those. it's a basic cartridge BB which was shared across the low to mid level groups. I assume there were differences in weight, bearings and heat treatment between groups.

111mm spindle length for double. 115.5? for triple

I'm impressed! I figured because it is campy that it's ISO, could I (hopefully) be wrong?

AFAIK it's ISO. I don't know of any Campy JIS products - BBs or headsets.

What frame is that? Pretty color.

Univega Super Speciale, coral pink in color. Originally had 1985 Super Record, but some guy sold the group and put Shimano 105 on! :bang:

ugh. bad, bad, previous owner. I use the same BB (mine came with a centaur group, but I think there's not much difference between centaur/veloce etc. - only chorus and record used different BB's) on my fixed gear and it's absolutely perfect. Show us pics of the progress!

He'll probably see this so I'll have to clear his name, the guy who stripped it was at least 2 owners ago. Brock actually did a forum about this bike and threw a lot of people off because they couldn't properly date the 1985 frame with the late 80's 105 group. They finally concluded that someone sold the C-record group and put 105 on. I'll definitely start a thread in the C&V once I'm farther down the road with the project.

One question though, what crankset did you use with your fixie? I dunno where I'm going to find a fixie crankset for an ISO spindle

Not knowing your qualifications for a Pista crank, pretty much all the C Record cranks us a symetric 111mm BB (and are ISO), so you could convert a double to a single. Also Miche makes an ISO pista crank and all the NJS cranks are ISO.. Good luck.
