Vintage Mountain Bikes on MY "TEN SPEEDS"...
Finally managed to get around to uploading the Vintage Mountain Bike section on MY "TEN SPEEDS". Just a few bikes to start while I find my off-road bearings but I do hope the information proves helpful and entertaining. Will try to improve my information as I become more acquainted with the whole Mountain Bicycle interest...

Nice addition to your website.
I recently found a Canyon Express hardly ridden in near mint condition for $200.00, mine has the lugged frame and the bull moose handlebars.
I am also going to get new tires, all terrain "road tires" I was thinking about the Schwalbe Marathon +, What tires are you going to use?
The quick release seat post skewer has got to go and I am using a Brooks B-17 saddle, so perfect for me.
I am also looking for a new seat post, what do you recommend?
Any other improvements you suggest would be most welcome.
The CE does ride great and it feels bulletproof, but I still prefer my 1972 PX-10 for a road bike

Randy,
Thanks for the inclusion into the site !
XUWOL7, Before you get rid of the old seatpost, have it measured so it will be of the same diameter as the one it replaces.
You might be on to something, quick release and B17 saddles are a hand off to Thieves waiting to happen.....
I happen to like the QR so I slip the lockcable through the saddle rails too when I am securing it. I have thought about small crimped cable looped from seatstay to frame might sorta work. Problem is that this saddle is a moving item that gets jumped from bike to bike. Makes anything look good ! Right now I just watch it as much as I can and cover it when it is out of sight.
