Source for one-off bicycle decal?

Everyone,

I have a 1976 Sekai 2500 Grandtour of much sentimental value which I'm refurbishing. I'd like to have a new decal made for the downtube, but after trying for eight months to get J.R. at VeloCals to do it, I have to conclude it's not going to happen. Does anyone know of another source? The old Sekai importer has a few NOS decals, but not this one.

Thanks,

Jonathan

If you've already got artwork (a digital file) created, I can recommend a printer I've used who has the ability to generate one-off decals. If you don't have, bear in mind that generating artwork can get pretty costly in a hurry.

Thanks for the reply - I do not have artwork, just photos and measurements, but I'm willing to pay for it. The bike is worth more than its market value to me.

I have a better thought, why not buy a real one? http://www.yellowjersey.org/sekai.html

I guess it's ok for me to recommend a business on here. I've used Printing Unlimited in Liberty, Missouri many, many times for a lot of different projects. I'm a graphic designer so I provide them with the artwork and don't really have a sense for what they would charge to recreate your graphic. I can tell you that I had them produce Paramount graphics a few months back and I want to say that the cost to me was about $25 for the printing.

A word of advice: The cost is for a specific size sheet. Regardless of how many decals you can fit onto the sheet, the price is the same... so for instance I fit about a dozen 531 decals, two complete sets of Paramount graphics, and some other odds and ends onto my small sheet. Now I've got graphics in reserve for the next time I need them.

EDIT: Just noticed the post above by RaleighSport. Ditto his comment.

Thank you for the advice - that's very helpful. When I mentioned that the old Sekai importer had NOS decals but not the correct ones, it was Yellow Jersey I was referring to. They have some 2500 decals but from later models, and they don't match my seat tube decal which is still in good condition.

that looks like a fairly easy decal to reproduce, I'd offer my services but free time is tight for me right now...
looks like Azorch does very good work, maybe he's up for a little free-lance gig ;)
