Damn hipsters

Instagram photo's in an add, but don't bother to get the bike presentable for sale. That pisses me off. Especially if it's a mistreated ALAN carbonio in my size.

It's a cross bike, I don't know how more "mistreated" a bike could be than racing cross with one.

-Street tires
-fugly TT protector/random piece of cloth that's of no use to anyone
-modern wheels, which is a bad idea since spreading bonded aluminium stays is rather dangerous
-improperly set up v-brakes with ugly MTB levers grafted on the suffering handlebar (which probably necessitated some rude stretching of the clamps)
-beastly BMX pedals
-mismatched saddle (ok, aestethics, but c'mon)
-decals removed

That's nothing. I've seen them cut the braze ons off a lot of high end stuff to make them look more aero when they convert them to fixed gear. Then they play "bike war" on them and fold the chain stays, then throw the frame in the trash.

How can you tell if it's anger, or just the usual angst?

The hipsters are younger than us, thus logically will eventually end up with all our bikes. May they burn in hell.

For decades I've had the same alarum in regards to '34 Fords (my special affection) — and a whole lot of other classic classic cars. But it's virtually a culture crime to feel that way cuz it turns out that the the analogue to drewed bikes often turns out to be the perennially revered 'hot rod'.

Everyone stop hating bikes that aren't yours.
Everyone start not caring if someone has a bike you think is messed up.

There... world fixed.
