From the link I posted it seems that some methods are better or worse than others, but I don't have any personal experience with any of them. I just can't imagine it being as good as the real thing done right.

Wow! All of these posts have made me take a second look at the Colnago frame I was going to have rechromed and repainted this coming May. Funny, but the chrome looks a lot better today than it did yesterday. I think I'll go with the best painter I can afford.

I looked into a proper restore for my Cinelli SC. To do the chromed lugs safely and properly would cost more than I paid for the f/f new. I am going to repaint, over the chrome.
