 In an effort to jumpstart things and get ready to work on my Rigi, I put my '87 Sport SX in the stand to change the wheels. I decided to put the fabulous 105SC/Wolber wheels I got from Echo (thanks again) on it since the hubs are both original and the wheels are from '87.
http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...6&d=1361206374 Everything was going fine until I took her ot of the stand and happen to look down. That is when I saw this!! :trainwreck: http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...7&d=1361206384 While this may not be a fancy schmancy Italian bike it is my first new bike and therefore my first Bianchi. I am so upset  http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...9&d=1361206399 The worst part is up until about two weeks ago I had the same frame in a different color!! Then I had to go and sell it on ebay! :( http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=299996http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=299997http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=299998http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=299999http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=300000 |

Yikes. In the fourth picture it looks rusty so it must have been broken for a while. Im sorry for your pain, its sad when something you are very fond of breaks.

Oh, that is a bummer!
On the bright side, you have a good excuse to buy a new bike now! |

Ok I'm thoroughly confused by this sentence. Bianchi isn't Italian? This bike is new? It's your first Bianchi??

Oh I get it now, thanks. Man what a bummer.
|
Ouch! Sorry BG.
http://img2.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/i...ey-Spade_l.jpg Take comfort in your other babies today. But the beauty of steel is that you can send it to Cyclart or someone else and they'll fix it good-as-new (or better.) |
Thats too bad BG, always hard to lose a favourite bike but at least you have a full set of components on hand and can look forward to finding a nice new frame to mount them all on.
|
Oh bummer! I am sorry to see that BG...
I don't even know how that happens (Apart torsional loading from forcing a stuck post). Maybe there was some micro-crack to start with, and oxidation did the rest based on the red rust tell-tale. |
OUCH. We're crying along with you, BG.
|
OH NOEZ
What a terrible way to start the week. :( |
I really am sorry for your loss... I was just trying to inject a little levity.
I know if it was me, I'd be on the phone with framebuilders, getting that stay repaired/replaced. Good luck in whatever you choose! |
Om MY! :-(
|
That sucks! Send it to Frank. :thumb:
|
Keep as bragging piece. "put so much power down I broke it"
|
easy fix do not fret :crash: plenty of framebuilders around and it's black
The seat stay is not the most important part...:twitchy: |
Thanks for comiserating everyone. I think cocktail hour will be early today.
|
hey BG now you can get "Girl" engraved and or pantographed onto the that side let me know if you need any parts
|
Holy crap. Be glad you were not in the saddle.
|
Sorry to see that BG! Hopefully it can either be fixed or replaced.
|
Sorry 'bout your baby, BG. But how did that happen? With my knowledge of physics I can imagine all sorts of frame "malheur", but not this. No sir.
|
you guys are too much!
1. ITS BLACK!!! the color will always match. 2. find a replacement bianchi seatstay cap- find a wrecked frame, these things are around. 3. get it fixed and stop whineing |
Your first new bike???
