Ooh, what a pivotal decision that would be. ;)

It took me a minute to get that - good one.

I probably should have added that the first time you install the mounting bolt it probably won't go in there all the way flush without a gentle tap from a hammer. Don't worry though - it'll be snug, but not snug enough to damage the threads at all.

I don't think I've ever seen Super LJ on a non-French bike.

Stock on a '73 Raleigh...

Which model Raleigh is that?

By the way, I'm not saying that I think there's anything wrong with SLJ on a non-French bike. I just haven't seen it.

Does that have to be a RRA?

Pars 02-23-13 09:44 AM

Yes, '73 RRA. I never had the French stuff on mine, so don't recall the mounting, but I am sure it was as simple as discussed. I did take it apart, but that was 35 years ago. I could get the stuff back if I wanted to (and my previous International frame as well).

That's a beautiful rear derailleur. Some day ...I'll have one.

Yeah, I did admire some of the parts on the bike before I got it, but had blinders on (cuz I wanted a full Campy Pro at the time), so when the opportunity arose to trade frames, I didn't give the french stuff a 2nd thought. Wheels were built on Maillard 700s as well. I might need to look into getting it back.
