3TTT Quill Stem question

Last night I purchased a 3TTT quill stem on ebay in a haze. The description says the diameter is 22 and the clamp is 25. Did I goof up an buy a French stem? But as far as I know 3TTT did not make any. Also, from the packaging it loks like its the 3TTT Podium stem which had all the standard dimensions. Just trying to get some confirmation as the posters listing seemed a bit misleading. Thank you very much!

I'm uncertain of 3ttt production, but the odds are in your favor that is a 25.4 x 22.2 stem. There are plenty with those measurements.

If you read the ad, his cheapest shipping rate is to France, so I'd say the odds are pretty good you bid on and won a French stem.

If that turns out to be the case, sell or trade it to someone here. There are a gajillion older French bikes that need the stems replaced.

Yeah. I wil just cross my fingers and see. I cannot find any podium quills that were french as I believe these stems were actually made in the late 80's after the french switched over to more standard sizes. But I guess I'll have to wait and see.

The diameter should be stamped on the stem.

I was on the other end of a deal like this. The stem was listed as 22.0, but I could see that it was clearly stamped 22.2.

I asked the seller to check and he insisted that it was 22.0. Ended up getting it for free on an "item not as described" claim.

Well I tried to look and all i could see was the label on the bag that mentions it is a 110 podium stem as well as the max insert. I still think the chances are pretty high that it is not french

22.2mm (neck dia.) x 25.4mm (clamp ID) Is pretty typical of 3TTT stems. It is not French sized, which would have had a 22.0mm dia. neck.
ITM and 3ttt made lots of 25.4mm OD bars to choose from to fit that stem clamp.

Are you saying the stem posted is actually 22.2 x 25.4 and not 22 x 25 like the ebay listing said?

Oops, sorry I think I read a later post by mistake...
If the seller is saying 22mm x 25mm clamp, then it could be sized for French bikes then, which would not be unheard of for an Italian company to make. I have a Cinelli 1A stem that is also french sized....
