Sort of a green...not sure what color this is:

I very much like this Rocky Mointain...by far the nicest steel MTB of its kind I've owned.

91ish Trek 800.

Unknown model/year Geoffrey Butler. Nicest one I've ever seen, and still the only one like it I've seen. Got it as a bare frame, so no telling what it used to have on it. When I found it, it was at a smal country shop being turned into a fixie. I saved it from that fate.,,,BD

I'll second that request for a thread about THAT bike!

I picked up this time-capsule ~1971 Raleigh yesterday, after the seller informed me he had relocated it 90 miles closer to my house, now 40minutes each way so I grabbed it. I paid 180, it is my exact size but I took this photo before even raising the seat. Bar wrap, cables, saddle even the Hutchinson tires are all original.

And AFTER (see below) a solid 8 hours of work spent on sorting out the original, poorly-built wheels, upgrading to UG 6-speed (needed a 2mm axle washer added, went from 122 to 124mm in back), liners in all of the original housings, newer saddle, post, tires, chain/freewheel and pedals, oil-can lubed the BB and headset, trued chainrings, cleaned things, adjusted things and etc.
Geometry measures as a pleasant 73.2 degrees seat tube and 71.5 degrees head tube, glad it came with that exact stem clamping the 38cm bars.
25.5lbs as shown below.
NO date on the Simplex derailer cage, hubshells or Brooks saddle, anyone know what year exactly?

@dddd I love my Super Course and I must say yours is a beauty. Your SC is almost certainly a '73. The Capella lugs give it away.
@northbend A stunning photo and bike. What is it?

Looks like Italian flag colors on the head tube, but could be Mexico (nah), Iran (doubtful), Hungary...

What is it****************************************?!

The early 4-speed index shifter is fun to see.

Under incandescent lights in the dining room. I'll have to wait for better lighting outdoors for better photos and Ride impressions.
I'm treading on new territory with this one, Never had anything like it before.

It is a 1937 Hobbs (of Barbican) Continental.

I presume you read Norris Lockley's homage to this particular frame. Is it not a Hobbs pre-Barbican? And the seller had gone to such exquisite effort to rebuilt it precisely correct. You are a very lucky guy to have focused in on this and grabbed it!

Do please provide your personal ride report when you get the next chance.

Congrats!!!!

Very green: Monark m42 Swedish military bike

Originally not a 3-speed, but since I acquired this without the original rear wheel I built a new wheel with Sachs Torpedo 3-speed hub and the original 584mm rim. I prefer to use this one in the winter. Very convenient to ride in deep snow, especially with those 3-gears!

I would have expected to have finished painting the bike that was going to be green by now. My thoughts were to get some ideas from all of you! Mission accomplished. Now I need to follow through!
