Bianchi Donna 28 Positron - Re-Imagined
I was asking some questions with regards to my next project in another post here on the forum and I posted a couple pics of my last project. Some folks seemed pretty interested, and I know I always love seeing before and after stuff. Also, I had asked some questions about this project when I was working on it and I wanted to thank everyone for the help! I owe some results. I'm extremely pleased with how it came out. It was a gift for my mum for Christmas and she absolutely was in awe. The bike's actually sitting in the kitchen entryway for the winter as decor. She's very excited for the farmer's market to open so she can ride to the grocery!
I picked it up from Craigslist. I loved the swooping mixte frame and all the little details such as the engraved 'Bianchi' cranks arms, and the 'Bianchi' stamped fenders. I kept the intrinsic parts, and upgraded much of it, from Shimano's Positron system, to Campagnolo 8-speed.
Bianchi Donna 28 Positron Before:
Sandblasted the frame for powdercoating (color: RAL 6027 - almost an exact match to Jagwire's "celeste" brake cable housing by the way):
And after I re-decaled it, I had it clearcoated to protect all the decals.
Thanks for all the information guys!

Outstanding, but you can come inside if you want. That's what we all wish our projects ended up like, classy & cool.

Well played.
Almost too much celeste goodness. Almost...
I hope your mom enjoys riding it for many many years.

Aside from the fact that it really puts my humble little mixte to shame I love it! Can I ship mine to your for a makeover?

If you include a little plastic card or large check along with it, I would LOVE to do it! Because man, as much as I love doing the work, that certainly isn't the hard part. It's the financing!

This bike is largely rebuilt with non-original parts, so I have placed an * next to the parts that are original to the bike, as it came to me (which appeared to be stock). Also, many of the components I picked up off the bay, and some models weren't precisely labeled, and Campagnolo is notoriously ambiguous, so bear with me.
Model: Donna 28 Positron v6
Frame: 1020 steel (no branding that I could find)
Headset: 1" Campagnolo Stratos? Headset (threaded)

Brake Levers: Paul Canti Levers
Brake Calipers: Paul Center Mount Racer Calipers
Stem: Velo Orange threadless stem adapter and 110mm stem
Handlebars: Velo Orange Porteur (dia = 22.2)
Bar wrap: Brooks Honey Leather bar wrap
Wheelset: Campagnolo 8-speed Record hubs laced to 700c Mavic Open Pro clinchers

Fenders: *Bianchi (likely just branded)
Seatpost: cheapo aluminum
Saddle: Brooks B33 Honey
Pedals: MKS Sylvan Touring Pedals
All cable stops and clamps Campagnolo.
