Do the slotted Suntour Superbe brake levers require housing stop/ferrule thing like Shimano and Diacompe used?

The ones I have do NOT have the ferrule on top, and I do not recall seeing any with them

Here are mine:
No ferrules. Replacement hoods are the Generic Brake Lever Hoods from Loose Screws, unfortunately sold out at this time. Cables are Velo Orange Braided Stainless.
