Nice, I like the white frame with the blue lugs.
How are you going to build it up?

The paint is a common scheme. Cuda2K has one in that colour. I have a 1981 A or AA frame that is very similar, but has the butterfly brake bridge on the rear and heavy duty crown and BB. Looks like a nice bike. Mine rides like a dream.

That looks great, and I really like the previous owner's build. What did he do -- transfer the parts to another bike or part the whole thing out?
Is the BB English/ISO threaded? How about the headset? (I am not familiar with Dutch bikes.)

There seems to have been a spate of Gazelles on here recently. Around here in the midwest they are relative unknowns but I love mine. Looking forward to seeing how you build yours up.

I think this was the frame colour gazelle offered on their team bikes, so the fred-trickle down effect would have made this a common colour. For good reason, Gazelle's look absolutely stunning in this combo.

the colour is amazing especially in person. Has a Cadillac feel to it. I do think the lugs were painted blue sometime after. Wish the pint was pristine, there are a couple touch ups with a white paint. Overall pleased with the condition as there is no rust and the inside of the tubes are clean. I would love to repaint it all (friends are auto body men) if they can duplicate the colour.

Just curious: is it this frame or is there some Gazelle Lug Blue-Painter at large?

They're on ebay all the time.
And I'm certain holiday76's frame which appears to be this one, was the only Gazelle I've ever seen with this color scheme. The color palette is common, but it's generally a blue head tube.

Frame looks to be from the early 80's and according to the brochures from that period this certainly wasn't a standard way to present this color combination. The ivory-colored frames either had a blue panel on the seat tube and a blue head tube, like 20grit said, or were just plain ivory.

I wish the paint looked as good as it does in the pictures. They dont show where the previous owner tried to touch it up with what looks like white out. I have stripped it and am waiting for new decals to arrive so i can talk to my painter.

I used to live in the Netherlands. I wish I had brought home with me one of those classic Gazelle or Batavus 3 speeds; those bikes are great. Great looking racing bike and good choice on the saddle,
