1974? Eddy Merckx bicycle identification

Hello

I probably have an Eddy Merckx bicycle. Probably, because I can't find anything about this model of frame on the internet, it's looks better like Peugeot 103, Puch Brigadier or Soma Buena Vista (my friends suggestion) but decals are different. I sent two e-mails to Eddy Merckx factory to prove its authentic model but they did not answer. I want to restore it, but without confirmation I hold my work

Can anybody help me? (sorry for my english )

A cool bike, but not an Eddy Merckx. Merckx (the man) licensed his name to at least several companies, who manufactured bikes in his name. But, Eddy Merckx (the company) did not open until years later.

Yours is a nice enough bike, and worth overhauling so that it is ridden once again. But, I would not spend any significant amounts of money on it....

Best of luck,
Bob

Looks like a pretty good mish mash of components. Did Merckx ever make a mixte? I 've never seen one.

It's not a fake, it just wasn't made by the Eddy Merckx company. It was made by another company (Kessels?) that licensed the name from the man, before he made his own company.

In any event, it's a nice commuter bike. But, not a high end or racing frame by any means...

I've seen these before - I think they were Falcon actually. Like bibliobob said, it's a licensed bike, not especially high end or desirable.

When you say restore, what do you mean? If the question is whether it's worth putting tires on, greasing bearings and cleaning up - it might be worth doing that, depending on your needs. If the question is if it's worth repainting, or fixing up to sell, no - probably not.

I want to fix, repaint and polish it but not for sale. I do it for myself

I suggested by bibliobob and I find factory who calls DANGRE-STARNORD in France, they make mixte for Eddy Merckx in 70's.
Thanks all who helps me! I put a new life for this bike

I also have an Eddy Merckx road-bike made by Starnord, and I believe that the code on the rear dropout indicates 1979. Good luck; I'm slowly restoring mine, too.

Hi again after a long time. I'm almost 100% sure that this bike was made by german producer Schauff. I've found print "made in germany" near support. This is how its looks like after refurbish: Schauff Merckx Photos by imperatorzorg | Photobucket
And its currently made circa 1977-78
