Thought I would just out some photos up of my first attempted 'resto-mod', It's a Giant team from 1995 (not sure if it counts as vintage) the last photo shows it when I first bought it, any opinions on it would be much appreciated, thanks !
(the front wheel is just one I stuck on, the new one will match) http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=303357http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=303358http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=303359http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=303360http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=303361http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=303362http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=303363http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=303364http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=303365 |

I agree it certainly has a classic flare. Great job.

Interesting tubing angles for a frame that recent. I also like the colored pedals.

They came from B'Twin. I took them apart and painted them when I painted the frame. |
Dittoes on the pedals. I think I'm gonna copy your pedals idea on the Resto-mod I'm currently doing. And I think that's a better term for what you're doing here, since 'restoration' more accurately refers to restoring an older bike to original, as-new condition. But I like your modifications; I think that's why we do stuff like this.
Seriously, who doesn't love orange? |

Nice looking build, though, were I you, (which I am not,... jessayin') I would make that back wheel match the front. That orange and black has an appeal to it!

aidenpringle, Looks very good. I'm going to use a similar pedal on my Cannondale recovery, I hadn't thought about painting the pedals before now, but it's a nice touch...Thanks for the idea! :)

Bike with both wheels black, which is better, Black or silver ? |
Great looking bike, I wuld go with the black wheels, but it looks fine both ways.

Nice job! i was riding a Giant RS940 as a beater winter commuter last year. For a relatively mid-low range Taiwain import, they are quite well made and stiff. Triple-butted Tange on the RS series.
When you're done, it will no doubt be nicer than when it was new! |
