Craig's List is a wide-open wild west of opportunities; you never know what's going to show up advertised as "old bike, $25." I recently snagged a really nice Centurion LeMans that way, as well as a near-mint Trek 500. My advice (if you've decided you want to upgrade your frame) is keep reading these forums and hear what other people say about their bikes (and other people's bikes - as you've found out ) learn about the different tubing types and their relative merits and rankings, and don't be afraid to ask questions.
And don't be in any huge hurry to make a change, sounds like your Huffy is serving you pretty well for now.

My bike has made a wonderful commuter, it holds up well to the abuse of getting hit by cars,
WOW! Can't say that about many bikes.......................
My Huffy Stone Mountain looks like the MTB equivalent (same tubing, squashed drop-outs and visible welds) and weighs a lot, with it's solid steel kickstand and one-piece ashtabula crank. I'm toying with the idea of building it up with the displaced parts from my tandem (Old-style wide Cowhorn bars, wide steel rims with motorcycle gauge spokes and cable drum brakes, BMX bull-moose stem, whitewall balloon tyres) and use it as a really rough stuff ride?

Here's a link to SearchTempest. Variables I entered were a zip code in Little Rock, "frame" in the subject line only, included picture, private owners only, every CraigsList city within 2000 miles, (since frames are easy to ship), and include eBay results.
Click the big blue "Open Results Window" button, start with the closest cities and expand out from there. Probably a solid weekend's worth of frames to look at. Figure $30 to $50 extra for shipping.
And do yourself a favor. On eBay, don't buy anything coming from overseas, and don't buy anything French, period. French thread components are getting hard to find.

My recent $25.00 purchase:
[IMG][/IMG]
This is before restoration. Revival is a better term. It's a nice quality bike with good components. Needed tires, bar wrap, and cables. You have to lurk on Clist every hour and than be able to strike fast. The Nishiki should fetch $250-$300.
