kitties and heat/cold -
used to regularly visit friends with two seal points
during the winter months the forced air furnace in their home would be running
its registers were built into the floor
one of the kitties was particularly fond of the output
he would lie right on top of the register and one could see the airflow slightly ruffling his fur
this would be way too warm for me but he seemed to be most contented on this spot...

So we probably seem a little cold-blooded to them.

Meet Charlie a four or five month old kitten who recently decided to join our family. My wife was walking our Australian shepherd on the local bike trail near the river where people like to fed the ducks. Suddenly he came out of nowhere and asked to be picked up. It is a place where someone would know animal lovers frequent. She did and looked around to see if the owner or cat relatives were nearby. She waited awhile but there were no other people or cats to be seen. While driving home he curled up in her lap and purred until he went to sleep because he was certain he had found a new home.
That necessitated a trip to get cat supplies. He was already house broken and knew right away where to go in the kitty litter box. Now he has been to the vet to check him over and see if he had a chip and get medicine. It didn't take him long to gain a pound. He is a combination of affection and mischief and curiosity. He is usually near where ever I am in the house after my wife has done to work and before I go to the shop to work on frames or teach others how to build them. After being bad, he jumps into my lap for affection.
Our dog and cat haven't figured out how to play together yet. Roxy is mostly tolerant and ignores him. Charlie likes to bother her which necessitates me being a referee. I'm sure he has no idea how lucky he was to have picked the right owner.

Probably part Siamese. Here's a picture of Ezra with his full brother Becket. Obtained from a rescue organization. Neither have tails so probably some Manx in there, or as my wife says, "Questionable parentage." Their personalities are as different as their appearance.

I think he might already be here, but I love sharing this new picture of him. Little Jesus, pronounced "Hey Zeus" after his original name.
