Cats know you just bought another bike.
Cats know you ate all the Girl Scout cookies.
Cats know everything, or act like they do.
That's why a dumb cat is so hilarious.
It's like it didn't get the memo.

Feral kittens we rescued. Dolly, Daisy, Wally and Maisie.

Larry

Daisy

Sydney

Sandy

Monte

Fuzzy

Runtly and Lucy. (brother and sister, doing great at 18.5 years)

Wally the adult

Dolly and Daisy at three years

Cali

We have 18 cats, all spayed, neutered and vaccinated. Six in the home, two in the warehouse at the business, and ten at the wife's art studio. We have finally got the feral colony under control in our neighborhood. We have so many because we cannot stand taking them to the shelter to be killed. Ten of our cats are abandoned pets, the rest are adopted ferals.

Here's Callie (RIP), a rescue that we had for about 17 years.

And here's Dumpster. We call him that because it's where I found him when he was the size of a coke can.

Good on you Hoss!
I also think it's funny that animals such as dogs and cats will show *zero* interest in watermelon until it's split open. Once they realize that it has a nice flavor, they will lick it. The same is true of grapes. We had a dog that couldn't figure out grapes unless they were cut in half.

my childhood dog, a dachshund, would chew a grape for ten or twenty seconds then spit it out in its perfectly round, original shape. what the..?
hoss, glad you can afford to do what you do. the names for your cats (larry, runtly and wally) are pretty funny. runtly reminds me of one of the hanna barbera 'really rottens.'

good for you! My wife and I love animals in general and feel bad we can't take in more than we do. Our schedule and travel makes pets a real challenge. (typically gone 4-6 days a week) but we support the local no kill shelter and occasionally host some animals when we can).

No one cares
No, I'm not angry. This thread is a distraction from the vintage bike theme, but not a detractor, as would seem obvious from all the participation. I think that was the point.
If you think this is nonsense, er, crap...that's up to you. But it isn't to many others. There isn't any crap in this thread that threatens you. We're having a little off topic fun here.
So what?

I hope so.

If Mr. Mokey Robinson was still with us, he would drop the major chill pill on this thread. He showed up one day 13 years ago and lived umpteen lives for all the poor roadkill and shelter victims. He went home last fall before the freeze and I still can't think of him without getting broken up. Call me a baby if you want.

We call her Pinky because her true name would be impossible to tell. She grew up in the pocket of my bathrobe and still thinks that's home.

Here’s Cookie and Angus. When we found Angus it looked like about eight inches of his intestines were hanging out of a wound in his side. About $1000 later he is doing well. Turned out it was his abdominal wall and tissue. Even with his insides hanging out he walked up to me and started purring.
BUT cats and bikes don’t always mix. My NOS Ochsner frame was in a protective cloth bag. Cat owners know where this is going, cat urine took most of the chrome off that little jewel. Somebody also squirted on one of the chrome stays on their Mom’s Paramount and that quickly became a couple of rust bubbles.

Cats have been held in positions of affection for an eon! Their alloofness has facinated and frustrated man/woman! They can win you over with their crazy antics one moment and treat you like a stranger the next!
My coon cat Max acts more like a dog than a cat! He fetches his x-mas bows for me to throw! He drops them into his water bowl to impart a scent to help find the bows later! If we had a fire he would probably curl up in front of it! He sleeps in my arms at night like my dogs used to! We can leave food in his bowl and be gone for a day or so and he doesn't wolf it all down just to throw it all back up again before we have left the driveway like our dogs used to!
