Here's one of our guys, Coco, supervising me while I was taking pictures of a new acquisition earlier this year. He's quite literally a junkyard cat (we trapped him behind the hazardous materials handling facility where I once worked). The vet figured he was about 6 weeks old at the time, and wasn't sure he'd make it (dehydrated, etc). After a day or two, he had perked up some and responded well to food and other treatment.

He's now a very healthy (some might say "too healthy", based on how much he eats!) cat, lookin' good in his tuxedo colors. He's our guard cat, always checkin' out the outside from behind glass or a screen. He loves to sit in an open window and watch and listen to squirrels and birds. Super spoiled, he's actually laying out upside down, right now, in front of a space heater in my home office. I guess you could say he's off duty at the moment.

@abshipp, really nice stories. Teach Sippy to behave, or you might regret it. My friend taught his cat not to bite by biting him back. I taught mine not to bite by making horrible hissing noises.

Thanks, but it's not so difficult with Felix. He has a habit of spending way too much time in places he shouldn't be in:

After losing our ten-year-old shop cat 'Scruffy' this past June to complications of FIV, I was without a cat here for the first time in 30 years.
Then in early August I was finally able to capture this feral kitten that was hanging around our patio and back yard.
An immediate trip to the vet for shots, de-worm, blood tests and such and he was declared all good to go. We kept him at home for three months in the cattery to socialize him and he had fun times with the other cats and we now have shop cat number six. I'm still taking him home at night to be with his friends in the cattery and then he rides to work with me when I come back from the post office.
His name is MICKEY and he is "in the groove" and is working out to be just fine in every way. Eventually he will live here full time. I have agreed to adopt a three-year-old cat from a terminally ill friend and this way the two of them can be safe, have fun and companionship, and keep me company here at work.

this is Walter. he was my girlfriend's cat in college ('82 ~ '83). Walter caught a bat on the back porch one night, as it was flying around hunting bugs. Walter liked to eat pasta such as ziti & rigatoni. here he is sitting in my suitcase full of Styrofoam peanuts I used as a cheap photo bag. (later in life, I would buy a proper Pelican case) he did this on his own, no setup by any of us

The humorist, Nick Offerman, when doing his Ron Swanson character, stated -- "Any dog under 50 pounds , --- is a cat "

so I present -- Buttercup the cat ! --- LOL (well........ she lays around like a cat)

I see people out walking or carrying the now-fashionable miniature dogs and think "damn, my cat would eat that dog for a snack".
