Lol, at first I worried about the pedals coming loose, but then I quickly found comfort in the assumption that they are probably as frozen as **** in the cranks.

I'm assuming Lock-Tite® or JB Weld® is involved somehow. I forgot to ask the guy I bought it from, but I do pay attention to pedal feel when i ride this thing. I've had a pedal spin off on me before and it tends to mess up the crank arm a bit.

one time as a photo exercise i shot some of the bikes that get donated to our bike co-op, completely untouched, just as they came in, but treated as if they were $10k race machines.

I know I will not beat the Univega with wood grain vinyl but this Yokota frankenbike might be in the top 10. The frame was given to me and I built it up with what I had in the parts box. The size made it a good fit for my wife and for some reason she likes it.

I don't think i've laughed harder on any other thread. Here's what i can pull up from my archives haha.

Note the 27 in. fork on the 700c frame, dented top tube, cyclocross front tire, and a hanger derailleur held on with a quick release. It does not stop there.

This Cannondale was an eyesore

This one can explain itself

I've been told my Bridgestone is ugly, but she's beautiful to me. My favorite bike ever. Old RF turbine cranks turning a rapid-rise drivetrain with barcons. Cheap dynnamo hub providing the lighting. I've since swapped front racks for another blackburn with a wire basket.

Yep. The ugly on the Univega is only contact-paper-deep. That mtb is hideous to the core. I was gonna post my rattlecanned flat black, skater-decalled, 650b conversion Trek, but it just can't compete with THAT.
