Gorgeous 1975 Schwinn Breeze

Not mine, but I did try . Gentleman came into the shop today with a few questions on this bike he had purchased. I'm the resident bike nerd so the manager pointed him in my direction. I answered his questions and had a few of my own (being bike nerdy and all) so he says "would you like to see it? it's in the van".

Now his questions had been about having his 10 year old girl ride this bike. I had talked about getting it tuned and the brakes safe for the young lady. He opened the band and I looked upon a near mint 24" Breeze, no pitting on the chrome, new tires, rims not rusted hand grips perfect. Backside of the right chainstay had some grease on it, that was the only dirt I could find on the bike. It literally looked like it had been built up yesterday and ridden once. I was surprised he wanted to let his daughter ride it, it looked like it should be in a Schwinn Museum.

I thought you guys might enjoy it as much as I did.

Unfortunately it is still a $50 bike unless you have a daughter or short wife who can ride it. Roger

I'll buy every one like that I can find for $50 . That would sell for $125-150 in my area.

As Mr. Jim, the OP will attest, there aren't many of them in Michigan for $50 in that condition. There are a lot of sellers who think if they have an old Schwinn, no matter how rusty, it is rare and worth $300. Then they relist, and relist, and relist, in some cases, going on two years.

Occassionally, you get lucky, like scoring on this Speedster for $75 while in NJ, just before dinner one evening.

Beautiful Breeze, should be in a museum, but that would be a waste of a wonderful bicycle. I agree 100% in its value, that is a catch and a half. I sadly would think that BBC would ask around $1K for this little beauty.

Gentleman who owns it paid what I thought was a fair price given it's condition. I'd have paid the same for it just as a wall hanger and parade rider. ($175 was the price)

I love the unloveable Schwinn lightweights.

Bought an ex-GF a Collegiate. Same, bike different name. Nice riding bike considering the age & weight. She rode it twice. I sold it for $150 to the cutest student you ever saw. Seeing her boogie around on a Cool Lemon Schwinn was a rare sight.
